COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- The victim of a drive-by shooting in Colorado Springs on Monday is being identified as a Wasson High School graduate, and member of the Western State College football team.

Police say 19-year-old Diontea Jackson-Forrest was shot a little after midnight yesterday in central Colorado Springs. His vehicle ran off the road, then hit a fence and a tree.

Jackson-Forrest was pronounced dead at a hospital about three hours later.

A makeshift memorial is now growing at the intersection of Printers Parkway and International Circle, where the vehicle went off the road.

He graduated from Wasson in 2006.

Police are still trying to figure out who fired the shots that struck Jackson-Forest.

Authorities are asking for anyone with information on the case to call Detective Mike Happ at 719-444-7673 or Crime Stoppers at 719-634-STOP.
