Broadmoor Stages U.S. Senior Open Qualifier

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The Colorado Golf Association conducted the 2007 U.S. Senior Open Sectional Qualifier at the Broadmoor Golf Club’s famed East Course (host site of the 2008 U.S. Senior Open) on Monday. Longtime Colorado professional Ron Vlosich of Lakewood shot an even-par 70 to earn the USGA low qualifying medal and the first of two available spots in the 2007 U.S. Senior Open. Earning the final spot was 2005 CGA Amateur Senior Stroke Play champion Robert Polk of Parker, Colo. who came in one stroke behind Vlosich at 71.

Professional Scott Walter of Franktown, Colo. shot 73 to become the first alternate, and in a playoff at 74 Robert Cloud of Denver earned the second alternate position.

Both qualifiers will play in the 2007 U.S. Senior Open held July 5-8 at Whistling Straight Golf Club in Kohler, Wisc.
