AURORA, Colo. (AP) -- The city of Aurora may still have a chance at landing a NASCAR track, but fellow Denver suburb Commerce City does not.
The International Speedway Corporation told Commerce City officials this week that the city was NO longer being considered a possible site for the company's next track.
Company officials say they are still interested, though, in building a track in Adams or Arapahoe County.
I-S-C says the track would seat at least 75-thousand race fans, and may require 150 (m) million dollars in public money to build.
I-S-C owns or operates 13 racetracks, including Daytona, home of NASCAR's Daytona 500.
Its other holdings include an 82-thousand-seat facility in Kansas City, Kansas, and a 76-thousand-seat track in Phoenix.
