DENVER (AP) -- Marcus Camby is already showing that being a dad is more important than being a star.
The wife of the 33-year-old Denver Nuggets forward/center recently gave birth to a baby girl, so Camby himself is passing up an invitation to play for Team U-S-A.
Agent Rick Kaplan says Camby was flattered that Colorado Springs-based U-S-A Basketball kept him in mind and invited him to Las Vegas training camp this summer -- but says Camby turned down the invite due to family reasons.
Camby reportedly decided that committing to U-S-A Basketball would force him to spend too much time away from his family.
A minicamp is scheduled for late July.
Olympic-qualifying competition begins August 22nd.
