U.S. Senior Open Tickets go on Sale

The countdown begins for the 2008 U.S. Senior Open at the Broadmoor. Tickets went on sale Monday for the tournament which runs July 28th through August 3rd of next year. A special guest was in town to launch ticket sales.

441 days until the world's best senior golfers will tee off at The Broadmoor. Hale Irwin is one of 156 golfers expected to play.
He unveiled the first ticket and then took a ceremonial swing.
"I think players who come here for the 2008 Senior Open will be pleased with what they find," said Hale Irwin. Irwin is pleased to see the course in such good shape. He hasn't been here in four years. But, he's anxious to get on the greens and have a chance to win near his hometown. "That would be another one of those dreams." Irwin grew up in Boulder and went to CU. But, he hasn't had the chance to play golf as a professional very often in Colorado. Irwin has played in the International at Castle Pines. And is disappointed to hear that it's no more. "I love the whole idea behind the International. I think it was very popular. But, it's beyond me to say why it went on its way." But, he says that's all the more reason for people to come out and enjoy the U.S. Senior Open next year at The Broadmoor.
