DENVER (AP) The Denver Broncos waived running back Cedric Cobbs and signed Texas running back Selvin Young Tuesday.
Cobbs, a third-year player from the University of Arkansas, joined the Broncos in September 2005 as a member of the practice squad.
Young's agent, Major Adams, told The Denver Post for its online edition that the 5-foot-10-inch, 207-pound Young picked the Broncos because the team showed the most interest after the Longhorns reserve went undrafted.
``We had mixed feelings,'' Adams said. ``In one sense you want the honor of being drafted, but at the same time you want to go to a situation that's going to be the best fit for a player.''
A physical runner, Young rushed for 591 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior and had 23 catches.
The Broncos had not announced Young's signing as of late Tuesday and a Broncos' spokesman did not immediately return a message left after hours.
