Broncos sign a pair of Linebackers

DENVER (AP) The Denver Broncos added depth at linebacker by signing unrestricted free agents Warrick Holdman and D.D. Lewis on Thursday.

Holdman, a ninth-year player out of Texas A&M, started 16 games for the Washington Redskins in 2006. He's also played for Chicago and Cleveland in his career.

Lewis played the last five seasons for Seattle. The former University of Texas product started 19 games for the Seahawks in his career, including Super Bowl XL during the 2005 season. Lewis played in five games last season before being placed on injured reserve on Dec. 12 thanks to a toe injury.

The signing Holdman and Lewis comes 13 days after Denver severed ties with team captain Al Wilson. A combination of a neck injury and salary cap concerns led to his release. Wilson was the team's leading tackler last season.

The moves may alter Denver's draft day strategy as the Broncos were potentially looking at linebackers this weekend. Denver has the 21st pick in the first round of the draft.
