DENVER (AP) - The Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers are clinging to playoff spots in the Western Conference, but neither team has much breathing room.
The streaking Nuggets host the Lakers Monday night as Denver tries to hang on to sixth place in the standings.
Denver has won five straight, but the Nuggets lead the seventh-place Lakers by just one-half game. The two teams are among five clubs within four-and-a-half games of each other in the race for the final playoff spots in the West.
The Nuggets have six games remaining.
