Air Force launches search for Bzdelik's replacement

AIR FORCE ACADEMY (AP) - The Air Force Academy Falcons have a familiar task on their hands, now that coach Jeff Bzdelik has departed for the University of Colorado.

However, there seems to be no shortage of people applying for the job he left behind.

Athletic director Dr. Hans Mueh says his e-mail was full and the fax machine was "smokin" almost as soon as Bzdelik announced his decision to leave.

That doesn't necessarily make the search any easier.

Assistant coaches Larry Mangino and AJ Kuhle have both expressed interest in the job, as have several other candidates in a field Mueh calls "wide open."

Mueh says "loyalty will be very important" as the Falcons search for their fourth head coach in just the past few years.
