Memorial For Darrent Williams At Crime Scene

As Bronco fans across Colorado learned that Darrent Williams had been killed, they reached for ways to remember #27. A makeshift memorial is now at the scene of the crime.

The only sound you could hear there was silence. But, what you saw was an outpouring of love. "It's like losing a brother. It sucks. I don't know him, but it still gets to you," Ashley Armijo, a Bronco fan said.

Hundreds of fans stopped by the Denver intersection. Some left stuffed animals, flowers, and even a Broncos coat. Others came to leave their prayers. "We support the team. We love you. May your legend live on in all of our memories," Angela Upson, a fan, said.

One fan wrote on the banner, “I'll never forget you. You changed the way players look at the game.”

Across the city, the pain of losing the 2-year Bronco veteran puts the season in perspective. "I've been a fan my whole life. I’m shocked and it hasn't sunk in. I don't think anyone is worried about game anymore," another fan told us.

Besides Bronco fans, Williams is also survived by his two young kids who live in Texas.
