Left-hander Franklin Morales, who missed the first half of the season with a shoulder injury, had rejoined the Colorado Rockies after completing a rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Colorado Springs.

The Rockies optioned left-handed reliever Randy Flores to Colorado Springs on Monday night to make room for Morales, who is expected to pitch out of the bullpen, according to manager Jim Tracy.

Morales went on the 15-day disabled list on April 22 because of a shoulder strain. He was reinstated June 12 and sent to Colorado Springs for the last stage of his rehab.
