Purdue players Robbie Hummel and JaJuan Johnson are scheduled to participate in the USA Men's World University Games team trials this week in Colorado Springs, Colo.
A news release from USA Basketball shows Hummel and Johnson on the 16-man roster for the trials. If they make the final cut, they will play in the games July 2-12 in Belgrade, Serbia.
Johnson averaged 13.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and just over two blocks per game last season to help the Boilermakers reach the NCAA West Regional semifinals.
Hummel averaged 12.5 points and seven rebounds per game last season. He was the Big Ten's preseason player of the year, but he suffered a hairline fracture in his lower back early in the season. He returned to form at the Big Ten tournament and was voted most outstanding player.
