The Sky Sox are searching for a new manager.

Today, Tom Runnels was promoted to the major leagues to serve as the bench coach for the Colorado Rockies. He replaces Jim Tracy who has been promoted to Rockies manager in Denver.

Runnels spent four seasons in Colorado Springs.

KKTV Sports has learned Sox hitting coach Rene Lachemann will serve as the interim manager until a long-term replacement is hired. However, Lachemann will not be permanent hire. The Sky Sox are expected to announce a new manager within the coming days. A Sox spokesperson says the hire is likely to come within the organization.
