KKTV 11 News has won a regional Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio-Television News Directors Association for Sports Reporting.
Sports Reporter and Anchor Jesse Kurtz was recognized in Region 3, which covers Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. His piece, “Emily’s Uphill Climb”, is about a young woman who survived cancer against the odds, and went on to compete in a mountain bicycle race. You can watch it right now on KKTV.com.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by your peers, and to be associated in any way with the name Edward R. Murrow," says Kurtz.
Kurtz was recently recognized as Best Sportscaster by the Colorado Broadcasters Association.
This is Kurtz’s fourth career Regional Edward R. Murrow Award. He will now compete for a National Edward R. Murrow Award.
