The Colorado Rockies kick off the season this afternoon on the road against Arizona.
Right-hander Aaron Cook will start on the mound for the Rockies, while the Diamondbacks will send out righty Brandon Webb as their opening day starter for the fourth straight season.
Cook won a career-high 16 games last season and made his first All-Star team.
He's the unquestioned leader of the Colorado staff with Jeff Francis out because of season-ending shoulder surgery.
It will be the second opening day start for Cook. His first opening day start was two seasons ago.
The Rockies bolstered their bullpen yesterday by acquiring right-hander Jason Hammel from Tampa Bay for minor league pitcher Aneury Rodriguez.
