Rockies Ready For Opening Day

The Colorado Rockies fizzled last season in their attempt to defend the NL crown, stumbling to their seventh losing season in eight years.

Now they'll be trying to find a way back without their best player, Matt Holliday.

The offseason was tumultuous as Colorado traded Holliday and lost closer Brian Fuentes to free agency while adding five new coaches to the staff, including former Colorado skipper Don Baylor as hitting instructor.

The Rockies get the new season under way tomorrow on the road against Arizona.

For Rocktober to happen again, Colorado needs Todd Helton's back to hold up for an entire season, Troy Tulowitzki to avoid prolonged slumps and injuries, and flame-throwing righty Ubaldo Jimenez to be more reliable.
