The Air Force Hockey team is moving onto the Elite 8 in the NCAA Hockey Touranment with a 2-0 win over Michigan.
The Falcons pulled off one of the biggest upsets in college hockey history Friday afternoon in Bridgeport, CT by beating the Wolverines. It is the first NCAA Tournament win in school history.
Derrick Burnett scored the first goal of the game at 4:42 of the 1st period to give Air Force a 1-0 lead after one period.
Jacques Lamoureux added a second goal midway through the 2nd and the Falcons led 2-0.
Andrew Volkening made 43 saves to secure the biggest win in program history. He has not allowed a goal in 218 straight minutes in net.
The Falcons will play either Yale or Vermont on Saturday for the right to go to the 2009 Frozen Four.
