The Air Force Academy football team had seven members recognized by the Mountain West Conference today as academic all-conference honorees. Seniors Travis Dekker (TE) and Jared Marvin (NG), along with juniors Clay Bryant (LB), Nick Charles (OL) and Chris Thomas (DB), and sophomores Kevin Fogler (WR) and Kyle Halderman (WR) were each honored. A student-athlete had to have a grade point average of 3.00 or better and be a starter or significant contributor. Air Force had 35 cadet-athletes total from five different sports honored by the MWC during the fall season.
The football team finished the season with an 8-5 overall mark and finished fourth in the MWC with a 5-3 mark this season. Air Force qualified for its second consecutive post-season bowl, marking the first time since 1997-98 the program has gone to back-to-back bowl games.
