Teemu Selanne scored the tiebreaking goal in the third period, sending the Anaheim Ducks past the struggling Colorado Avalanche 4-3 on Saturday.
The Avs have lost four in a row, 7 of 8 and are 1-5-0 on their season-high 8-game homestand that they had hoped would serve as the catalyst for salvaging a season quickly turning sour.
Selanne's goal five minutes into the third period made a loser of Peter Budaj, who returned to goal by default more than anything else.
