Tom Gorowsky and Aaron Bendickson scored second-period goals, and 16th-ranked Wisconsin broke a 6-game losing streak to 11th-ranked Colorado College with a 6-1 hockey victory in Madison tonight.
Andy Bohmbach scored twice and John Mitchell added a goal and two assists for the Badgers (13-9-3, 10-5-2 WCHA), who pulled within one point of first-place and idle Denver in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
Wisconsin outshot Colorado College 31-30 and forced Tigers starting goaltender Richard Bachman out of the game early with four goals on 24 shots. Drew O'Connell made five saves on seven shots after replacing Bachman.
Nate Prosser scored a power-play goal for the Tigers (12-8-5, 8-7-2), who are 1-6-2 in their last nine series openers.
Shane Connelly made 29 saves for Wisconsin.
