I feel Pat has made a very big mistake. The people fired should have been the ones to handles the defense. This was not Mike's fault. Now it will take 3-4 more years to get a good team, if ever, with a new coach. I will follow Mike whereever he goes. I have loved the Broncos forever and even has been to INVESCO FIELD to see some of the games, but now won't go again. Come on Pat, can you see the error of your ways?

Quit blaming everything on our QB. Children do that. Because the quarterback is generally the "team captain", a title which means nothing, they assume it must be his fault. Everyone should take a look at the bigger picture. Jay Cutler threw 37% fewer interceptions this year than he did last year. That's a big number. You cannot blame it on him. He has done an intensely great job this year and he earned himself a pro bowl appearance for it. That being said, Shanahan, as VP of Football Operations, had a HUGE hand in the crafting of a defensive scheme that operated like a bullet-hole-ridden shower curtain. Still, I cannot say it was Mike's Fault entirely either. I say fire the Def coordinator and tell Shanahan he has one season to make it right. Then fire him. Overall, I feel this was not a wqell-conceived plan by our esteemed leader, Pat Bowlen. but that is just one man's opinion.

Mistake, but not a big one. I was surprised a little I thought after all the injuries this year Mike might get one more year at it. I don't think the Broncs would of been where they were, a win from winning the division with a different coach. I believe if the broncos get a defense in place that can stop teams more consistently we have a bright future. Jay just needs to mature a little more. Maybe Pat Bowlen should of taken some of the responsibility away from mike and just made him coach one more year to see what happened. But oh well its sports and not too many coaches stay with the same team more than 10 years. good luck mike

I think it is over do by 3 years. What really makes me mad is the so called Sports experts and Analysts on radio and TV that keep bringing up every game about the "Offensive Genius of Shanahan". The Offensive genius went to Texas 3 years ago. They must not be watching the same games I'm watching. The play calling has been atrocious the last 3 years especially in the Red zone. I think a change was definately needed. First thing the new coach needs to do is spank Cutler and fix his attitude.

It is so very much time for Shanahan to move on. In the last 3 or 4 years he has seen himself as larger than the Broncos. He seemed to think he could call any stupid play at anytime and it would work simply because he was Mike Shanahan. I am not saying he is a bad coach, just that he has become something grander than the team he leads. He will make a great coach somewhere else. I just hope it is nowhere in the AFC West.

I really think it was a big mistake to fire Mike Shanahan, but I could see it coming. I was really surprised that Jay Cutler wasn't released from the team first. With all of his numerous interceptions in the last 6 or 7 games, the Broncos had no chance of going anywhere in the post-season. Of course the defense could have done better, but most points scored against the Broncos in the last few games were from these interceptions! If we had a QB that could throw the ball accurately and not into the other teams hands (or just plain overthrowing it EVERY THROW) then I'm willing to bet the Broncos would be in the playoffs right now.

Not Much of a team after the Elway years, maybe a time for a coach to step back and take a year off.
