Andrew Hooper scored 19 points, including 8-of-8 free throws, to lead the University of Denver men's basketball team to a 66-55 victory over Florida Atlantic Tuesday night.
The Pioneers (3-6, 1-0) overcame a 25-22 deficit to win the match, the Sun Belt Conference opener for both teams.
Nate Rohnert recorded 17 points and five assists for Denver, while teammate Brian Stafford tallied 11 points and three assists. Rob Lewis added 10 points for Denver.
Paul Graham III led Florida Atlantic (4-6, 0-1) with 21 points. He was followed by Carols Monroe and Alex Tucker with 10 points each.
