The teenager killed in a traffic accident on I-25 was a former stand out wrestler at Coronado High School.
Wade Lehman graduated from Coronado in 2008, and was continuing his wrestling career in college at CSU-Pueblo. Lehman was killed when the car he was riding in veered off the side of the road and collided with a semi that was parked on the side of the interstate.
The car was being driven by Lehman's girlfriend, 19-year-old Dezirae Shier-Gill of Colorado Springs. Shier-Gill is said to be doing fine, but was issued a traffic summons for Careless Driving Resulting in Death.
Lehman's former high school wrestling coach Matt Brickell says the loss is going to be tough for his team to deal with. Lehman was a metro league champion, and finished 6th in the state tournament last season.
I-25 southbound was closed for almost four hours while police investigated the accident and cleared the scene.
