Sophomore outside linebacker Nate Vaimounga has been dismissed from the University of Colorado football team for violating team rules.
Athletic director Mike Bohn and football coach Dan Hawkins announced the move Tuesday.
Vaiomounga was academically ineligible this season. He's now been removed from the squad altogether, but Hawkins and Bohn didn't reveal the nature of the infraction.
They said only that it was unrelated to the thefts in the Buffaloes' locker room during a game last weekend.
Hawkins said in a statement that coaches have been consistent in showing zero tolerance for poor decision-making.
