An NCCA report released Tuesday says 79 percent of student-athletes who entered school in the fall of 2001 graduated within six years. That's an all-time high and a 1-point improvement over last year.
But those who played men's basketball, football and baseball continue to lag behind student-athletes in other sports.
The report found that nearly half of the Big East and Big 12 men's basketball teams failed to reach 50 percent. Cincinnati, UConn, DePaul, Louisville, South Florida and West Virginia in the Big East and Baylor, Colorado, Missouri, Texas and Texas A&M in the Big 12 all fell into that category.
