Rookie Eddie Royal had an injured ankle, and Brandon Stokley went down with a concussion in the third quarter. That left the Broncos with Marshall, Darrell Jackson and Glenn Martinez, who was re-signed two weeks ago. Jackson was making his first start since the opener.

The skeleton receiving crew forced Cutler to force the ball to Marshall, who was visibly tired toward the end of the game.

Marshall caught nine passes for 98 yards. Cutler completed 21 of 37 passes for 192 yards, fumbled once and threw an interception.
