Young played for the Rockies from 1993 to '97, and hit the first major league home run in Denver at the old Mile High Stadium in April 1993. He currently works as an analyst on ESPN's "Baseball Tonight."
The fleet-footed Young is tied for 43rd place on the all-time steals list with 465. He's also the Rockies' all-time leader with 180.
Young also played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers and the San Diego Padres during his 15-year major league career.
Young will be honored with a pregame ceremony before the Rockies play the Dodgers on September 12th.
