The Colorado Rockies recalled five players from the minor leagues and activated reliever Matt Herges from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday.
Herges had been placed on the 15-day disabled list on August 18th with lower back stiffness. He was 3-and-4 with a 5.09 ERA before the injury.
The Rockies recalled first baseman Joe Koshansky, catcher Edwin Bellorin, and pitchers Jason Hirsh and Greg Reynolds from Triple-A Colorado Springs. They also called up outfielder Dexter Fowler, who hit .335 with nine homers at Double-A Tulsa before spending most of August competing at the Beijing Olympics with Team USA.
