Aurora police say a former Denver Broncos defensive back is suspected of rear-ending a scooter, killing the rider.
Police say 34-year-old Billy Jenkins ran from the scene of the crash to a nearby park before returning. The accident Thursday morning killed 51-year-old Tracy Gill, who was thrown from his scooter.
Jenkins is free on $50,000 bail. Police say he could face charges of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence.
Jenkins retired from football in 2000. He played for the Broncos in 2000 and 2001 and before then he was on the St. Louis Rams Super Bowl championship team in 1999.
