The Colorado Avalanche have signed forwards Cody McCormick and Brian Willsie each to a one-year contract.
Twenty-five-year-old McCormick played in 40 games for the Avalanche last season. He had two goals and two assists, registered 81 hits and had 50 penalty minutes. He appeared in four playoff games, making one assist.
McCormick was Colorado's fifth choice (fifth round, 144th overall) in the 2001 Entry Draft.
The 30-year-old Willsie was Colorado's seventh choice (146th overall) in the 1996 Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Avalanche in the 1999-2000 season and spent parts of three seasons with the team.
He spent the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Kings.
