The Colorado Avalanche have signed forward Cody McLeod to a one-year contract and reached deals with six others.
The 24-year-old McLeod made his NHL debut last season and had nine points in 49 regular-season games for the Avalanche. He also had a goal and an assist in 10 playoff games.
Colorado has also agreed to terms with forwards Philippe Dupuis and Nathan Smith, defensemen Darcy Campbell and Aaron MacKenzie, and goaltenders Jason Bacashihua and Tyler Weiman.
Weiman began the 2007-08 season with the Avalanche and appeared in one game before being reassigned to Lake Erie in October.
Smith played 13 games with Pittsburgh Penguins last season after being recalled in January. He spent most of the year with the Wilkes-Barre Penguins in the AHL.
