Atlanta police say Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall suffered a cut in his hand and was bleeding after a confrontation with his girlfriend that led to his March arrest. That arrest is now the cause of an NFL investigation.

Police say in a report first obtained by The Denver Post that Marshall refused treatment for the injury at his condominium in downtown Atlanta after the March 4 argument. Marshall told police he had cut himself with a piece of glass.

Marshall's arrest two days later was his third in a year. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed yesterday the league was reviewing Marshall's latest arrest for allegedly hitting girlfriend Rasheedah Watley.

He was released from jail the next day after posting $1,000 bond.

Under the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy, Marshall could be suspended because of his multiple arrests and alleged incidents. He's due in court in September for a trial on a drunken driving arrest on October 2007.

Marshall and his attorney, Harvey Steinberg, say Watley's allegations against Marshall are an attempt to blackmail him.
