The Colorado Rockies have the 25th pick in Thursday's MLB Draft, the lowest first-round pick they've had since the second year they participated in 1993.
They had the 27th pick in 1992.
In 2001, the Rockies gave up their first-round pick to the New York Mets as compensation for signing free agent Mike Hampton.
Prospects for the Rockies include -- right-handed pitcher Jake Odorizzi of Highland (Ill.) High School, shortstop Anthony Hewitt of Salisbury School (Conn.), right-handed pitcher Ethan Martin of Stephens County (Ga.) High School, catcher Jason Castro of Stanford and right-handed pitcher Ryan Perry of Arizona.
Tampa Bay has the first pick.
