U.S. weightlifter Josh Moreau has been suspended for two years after committing a second anti-doping violation, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency said Monday.
In late 2006, Moreau tested positive for marijuana but avoided a three-month suspension by taking part in an education program.
The agency said that an independent arbitrator has since found that Moreau tested positive for marijuana five months later at the 2007 Weightlifting National Championships.
His two-year period of ineligibility is retroactive to Aug. 3, 2007, wiping out his third-place finish at the national championships.
