It's playoff time which means it's prime time for Joe Sakic.

Sakic tipped in a shot by Ruslan Salei from the point midway through the first overtime period to give Colorado a 3-2 win over Minnesota. That's his eighth career playoff goal in extra time.

The goal came at 11:11 of OT and gave Colorado a 1-0 lead in this first-round series. Game 2 is at Minnesota on Friday.

Kurt Sauer and Ryan Smyth scored early to give the Avalanche a 2-0 lead in the second period with only seven shots on net at that point. But the Wild surged back after the second intermission on goals by Mikko Koivu and Todd Fedoruk to tie it.
