The Rockies will begin the season with 38 players on the 40-man roster.
Yesterday the club signed left-handed reliever Micah Bowie and outfielder Scott Podsednik to major league contracts. They placed right-handed pitcher Jason Hirsh on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right shoulder.
Hirsh was expected to be the Rockies' Number-4 pitcher but hasn't pitched since March 1st, when he strained his rotator cuff.
Bowie and Podsednik both signed minor league deals with Colorado in the offseason with an invitation to spring training.
Podsednik, who was released by the Chicago White Sox after two injury-filled seasons, beat out incumbent Cory Sullivan for the Rockies' fifth outfielder spot.
