Peter Forsberg made his season debut for Colorado Tuesday night against Vancouver, a much-needed boost for the injury-riddled Avalanche.
The Swedish forward says his ailing right foot felt healthy enough to play after Tuesday morning's skate-around.
Forsberg says he's not worried about his foot or his fitness level, but he is concerned about living up to expectations.
He's just asking everyone for a little patience as he gets back on the ice.
Forsberg is returning at a good time for the Avalanche, who lost scoring threats Marek Svatos and Ryan Smyth to injuries during a game against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.
Svatos will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.
Smyth is out indefinitely after suffering a concussion and shoulder separation on a violent check into the glass.
He had to be carried off on a stretcher.
