Colorado Rockies officials can turn their attention now to Pitcher Brian Fuentes and outfielder Brad Hawpe after avoiding arbitration with Garrett Atkins.
Atkins, the team's third baseman, signed a one-year contract worth almost four-point-four (m) million dollars. The deal is worth more than ten times Atkins' salary last year.
Fuentes and Hawpe are the two players on the team remaining in arbitration.
The Colorado Rockies play their first spring game February 27th against the White Sox.
Pitchers and catchers are due to report to spring training in Arizona on Friday.
