Gerald Wallace and Matt Carroll led Charlotte's 119-116 win over Denver.
Wallace shot 13-for-24 while pouring in 40 points, two off his career high. He drained a 3-pointer that put the Bobcats ahead 117-112 with 47 seconds left.
Carroll added 19 points, including a pair of free throws with 4.6 seconds left after the Nuggets pulled within a point.
Carmelo Anthony led the Nuggets with 35 points but missed a free throw and was called for traveling just before Carroll's late foul shots. Allen Iverson finished with 23 points, and Marcus Camby added 20 and 23 rebounds.
