Iverson Misses Practice Due To Son's Surgery

Even without any practice, Allen Iverson scored 29 points in the Nuggets' win over San Antonio.

Iverson revealed after the game that the reason he had missed all of this week's workouts was because his 4-year-old son, Isaiah, fell face-first from a stool early Monday morning and required plastic surgery.

Iverson said the toughest part was watching his young son sedated for surgery. He said he was just "mentally out of it" because of the experience.

He says his son still must undergo a series of procedures over the next week but that he's back to his usual rambunctious self. That allowed Iverson to concentrate on beating the defending NBA champions.
