Although the Denver Broncos surely enjoyed smashing archrival Kansas City -- sweeping the series this year -- it probably was too late.
They finally looked like the playoff contender they had expected to be, winning 41-7 yesterday at Invesco Field at Mile High.
Jay Cutler threw a career-best four touchdown passes, Selvin Young rushed for a career-high 156 yards on 17 carries and Elvis Dumervil collected three sacks and forced a fumble that led to a touchdown as the Broncos overwhelmed the Chiefs.
But the Broncos, at six wins and seven losses, remain two games behind San Diego in the AFC West with three to go following the Chargers' come-from-behind win in Tennessee.
