The Denver Broncos have signed wide receiver Brandon Stokley to a three-year contract extension through the 2010 season, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced Saturday. As per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Stokley (5-foot-11, 197 pounds) is in his ninth NFL season and first year with the Broncos after signing with the club as a free agent on March 22. He ranks second on Denver in receiving yards (614) and receptions (39) while tying for the team lead with four receiving touchdowns in 12 games played, including a career-high eight starts.

The wide receiver owns the second-highest first down percentage on receptions in the NFL this season with an 84.6 percent mark (33-of-39) that projects to be the best by a Bronco under Shanahan (1995-Pres.). Stokley also has caught nine passes of at least 20 yards, including two 45+yard grabs, and has recorded one 100-yard receiving game (102 yds., at Oak., 12/2) this year.

Stokley joined the Broncos after spending four seasons (2003-06) with Indianapolis. He played his first four professional seasons with Baltimore after it selected him in the fourth round (105th overall) of the 1999 NFL Draft from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (since renamed University of Louisiana at Lafayette).

In 86 career regular-season games (30 starts), Stokley has totaled 238 receptions for 3,443 yards (14.5 avg.) with 26 touchdowns. A member of two Super Bowl winners with Baltimore in 2000 (XXXV) and Indianapolis in 2006 (XLI), Stokley has appeared in 12 career postseason contests (1 start).
