The NFL has fined Broncos coach Mike Shanahan $25,000 for his comments about the appeal of the drug suspension of running back Travis Henry.
The NFL told Henry in September that he failed a test for marijuana. Henry sued to avoid the suspension and won his appeal earlier this week.
Shanahan backed Henry's appeal and said he was convinced of his innocence after the player passed a polygraph test and a hair sample came back negative for the drug.
The NFL says Shanahan was fined for "inappropriate public comments about the substance abuse program" which violates league rules.
