Evgeni Nabokov handled 33 shots and the San Jose Sharks dealt Colorado its third loss in 13 home games by beating the Avalanche 3-2.
Steve Bernier snapped a 1-1 deadlock midway through the second period. Mike Grier made it 3-1 at 8:30 of the final period to help the Sharks beat the Avalanche for the second time in four nights.
Milan Michalek also scored, and Joe Thornton had two assists as the Sharks improved to 9-3-and-2 on the road.
Andrew Brunette got the Avs within 3-2 with 3:05 left. But Colorado couldn't get the equalizer despite outshooting the Sharks 16-8 in the final period.
Milan Hejduk also scored for the Avalanche.
