The Pueblo West Cyclones are headed to the 4A State Championship game for the first time in school history.
West beat Broomfield 21-14 in the state semifinals on Friday night. The Cyclones, playing without star tailback Justin Jackson, got scores from Joe Torres, Zach Filmore and Tony Chavarria to fuel the upset win over the Eagles.
The Cyclones are now 3-0 in the state playoffs with win over powerhouse programs like Dakota Ridge, Pueblo South and Broomfield.
West now will play Monarch for the 4A title on December 1st at Invesco Field at Mile High. Monarch beat Cherokee Trail 6-0 in overtime.
