Broncos tailback Travis Henry has convinced coach Mike Shanahan that he doesn't use marijuana. Now he'll take his case to the NFL.

Henry is trying to keep the league from suspending him for a year over the results of a drug test earlier this season. He'll present his case to the NFL in Phoenix on Friday.

Shanahan backs Henry. He says Henry passed a lie detector test, and a recent hair sample came back negative for marijuana.

Shanahan says he doesn't expect to hear on a ruling until after the Broncos play Tennessee, Henry's former team, next Monday.

Henry also has sued the NFL to keep from being suspended for a year.

In 2005 Henry was suspended for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy while in Tennessee.
