Avs trade for goalie Bacashihua, send him to AHL

The Colorado Avalanche acquired goaltender Jason Bacashihua from the St. Louis Blues on Thursday for a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2008 draft.

The Avalanche signed him to their AHL affiliate in Cleveland.

Bacashihua made 38 career NHL appearances in two seasons with the Blues. He appeared in four games this season with Peoria of the AHL, posting a 3.17 goals-against average.

The Dallas Stars made him the 26th overall pick in the 2001 draft. He was acquired by St. Louis in June 2004
