Rockies To Raise Ticket Prices

By  |

The Colorado Rockies' success is going to hit baseball fans in the wallet.

The club has informed season-ticket holders that they will increase ticket prices for 2008.

Spokesman Jay Alves said the team is still working on the details, but season tickets are expected to go up about 15 percent.

Some single-game tickets could go up 30 percent.

Alves said, even with the increase, season ticket packages will still cost about $1,000 less than buying tickets for each game individually.

The Rockies have indicated they expect their payroll to increase from $54 million to at least $70 million, to pay for bigger contracts for players like Garrett Atkins, Brad Hawpe, Matt Holliday and others.
