The NHL has named Colorado's Paul Stastny as its first star of the week.
The 21-year-old led all other scorers with four goals, four assists and eight total points as the Avalanche won two of their three games last week.
Stastny recorded a hat trick as the Avs beat Dallas 4-3 on Wednesday.
He was kept from scoring on Thursday when Nashville blanked Colorado 4-0, but finished the week with a goal and four assists in yesterday's 6-2 win over San Jose.
The son of hockey Hall of Famer Peter Stastny is a native of Quebec City, and played for both the University of Denver, and for Millard North High School in Omaha (Nebraska), before joining the Avs.
