Coaches in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association have picked North Dakota to win the league title.
The Fighting Sioux received seven first-place votes in the Grand Forks Herald coaches' poll, and a total of 79 points.
They edged two-time defending league champion Minnesota, which had the other three first-place votes and a total of 74 points.
Colorado College, Denver and Wisconsin rounded out the top five, with 55, 53 and 52 points respectively.
UND's Ryan Duncan -- last year's Hobey Baker winner -- was voted WCHA preseason player of the year. UND's T.J. Oshie and Taylor Chorney also got votes, along with Minnesota's Kyle Okposo.
Wisconsin's Kyle Turris is the league's preseason rookie of the year. UND's Evan Trupp also got a vote.
